The electric launch version of the new 7 Series of 2022 will be the BMW i7 xDrive 60, arriving in the second half of this year, with the 750e xDrive and M760e xDrive plug-in hybrid models following next year. In addition, BMW reports that other all-electric variants will be added to the 7 Series, including the flagship i7 M70 xDrive, which will arrive later in 2023, with an expected output of 660hp. The BMW i7 xDrive 60 electric car has a very slim battery located on the floor that offers 101.7 kWh of usable energy and a declared Wltp range of up to 615 kilometers.

The rear wheels generate 313hp peak power, while the front axle engine delivers 258hp. As a result, the two drive units provide a combined maximum power of 544 hp and torque of 745 Nm. These figures mean that the BMW i7 xDrive 60 goes from 0 to 100 km / h in 4.7 seconds.

The new BMW i7 electric car is decidedly big, designed to drive the rich and powerful in almost absolute silence. The electric car is nearly 5.5 meters long. To be more precise, the dimensions have grown by 130mm in length to 5391mm, by 48mm in width to 1950mm, and by 51mm in height to 1544mm. These dimensions allowed BMW to install the central element in the interior of the i7, the Theater Screen system.

Thanks to sophisticated touchscreens and information displays mounted on the rear door panels - a new technology that BMW has renamed " Touch Command " - it is possible to activate a 31.3-inch Amazon Fire TV touchscreen with a resolution up to 8k, which lowers from the roof of the passenger compartment. The display extends horizontally, occupying the entire width of the passenger compartment. At the same time, the sun blinds on the side, and the rear windows and the panoramic glass roof are lowered automatically, while the ambient lighting at the rear is dimmed. Once fully open, the screen extends from the roof to the front seat backrests.

In addition to playing content from your devices and allowing you to watch films and TV series from Amazon Prime Video and Netflix on the go, a camera on the screen allows the Theater Screen also to be used as a tool for video conferencing. It will then be possible to use Zoom on the highway without being able to escape meetings.

The cinematic experience is joined by an equally impressive sound system made by Bowers & Wilkins, in case you don't want to use individual Bluetooth headsets with independent volume controls. The optional Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound System has 36 speakers, four of which are integrated into the roof lining, delivering a prodigious 1965 watts. Transducers in the front and rear seat backrests vibrate to let you hear the lowest frequencies. The "standard" system is impressive, with 18 speakers and 655 watts.

The BMW i7 xDrive 60 electric car will start at $ 119,000 in the US.
